SALIENT FEATURES
(1)

Membership to the Fund will be restricted to the ordinary members of the Catholic Syrian Bank Officers' Association hereinafter called "THE ASSOCIATION". Members who have completed the age of 50 will not be admitted to the Fund. However, those who are promoted or recruited to the Officers' cadre of the Bank after completion of the age of fifty may be admitted to the Fund, provided they join the Fund within three months from the date of such promotion or recruitment, as the case may be. In the case of those who have not completed the age of fifty, membership to the Fund will be given, only if they remit the prescribed subscription to the Fund payable from the date on which they became officers.

Any member of the Association, who desires to enrol himself/herself as a member of the fund, shall apply to the General Secretary of the Association in the prescribed form.

The object of the fund is to provide financial assistance to its members during their active service or retirement due to disablement and to the dependents of the members in the event of their death.

Every member who enrols himself/herself as a member of the Fund shall remit monthly contributions at the rate of Rs. 80/- (Eighty only) or at such rates as may be decided by the Executive Committee from time to time.

Apart from the contributions as provided herein above, donations to the Fund will be accepted from members and non-members.
 
(6)
The amount collected towards the Fund shall be part of the general funds of the Association, but shall be kept in a separate account.
 
(7)
In the event of death or retirement due to disablement of a member, the Association shall pay Rs.6,00,000/-(Rupees Six laksh only) either in lump or in instalments as the Executive Committee of the Association may decide from time to time, to the nominee of the deceased or to the disabled member.

Subject to the provisions of the rules herein below, a member who has defaulted payment of his/her dues and levies to the Association and/or who cease to be a member of the Association will cease to be a member of the fund. Likewise, any member who has defaulted payment to the Fund consecutively for three months shall cease to be a member of the Fund and may be re-admitted, only if he/she clears all the arrears. Any dues or levies payable to the association by any member shall be adjusted from the amounts payable out of this Fund, at the time of disbursement.

In the event of demise or retirement due to disablement of any defaulting member, who by operation of rule 10 ceases to be a member of the Fund, the dependents of such members will not be eligible for any of the benefits under the Fund.

Every member shall nominate his/her dependent to whom the benefit is payable in the event of his/her death. Such nomination shall be submitted to the General Secretary of the Association and shall be duly attested by any one of the members of the Association.
